ROMANS 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. This summer has been a test of these blessed verses. As most of you know, our son Mark took his life in July. Through it all, God has been with us giving comfort and supplying our needs. The out pouring of love from our church and the churches that support our ministry has been amazing. At the funeral, there were 8 states represented by people attending. Many churches have taken up offerings to help with all the expenses. Also we have received cards from many of you. I just want to say thankyou. I am humbled that so many would do so much. You will never know how much it means to my family. I am also amazed at how many people have let me know that they too have lost a child. You just don’t realize the sorrow that others carry until it affects you personally. The verses that have brought comfort to others, have been shared with us, and for that I say thank you again. I can’t imagine going through this without God and the hope that we will see Mark again one day. I look forward to doing a project with him during the millennium. I also draw comfort knowing he had his grandma’s there waiting for him.
We are still parked at our home church here in Saginaw, MI. There is a lot to attend to at a time like this, and we are getting through it slowly. While here I have been able to work on the renovation project of our church’s south wing. Namely 2 bathrooms and a kitchen, plus we’ve remodeled a bathroom in the parsonage. I plan to stay here through the mission conference in October and if God allows we’ll be heading south before November and cold weather arrives. We are hoping to return to Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and put the siding on the new building at Calvary Baptist. It will be hard to leave our family here but we know that we must. We are looking to David’s example in 2 Samuel 12:20-23. He accepted what God had allowed to happen, and knowing that others were watching, he picked himself up and went back to life. We know that we will never get over what has happened. It’s a part of our lives now. But we
also know that our lives are a testimony to others. So with God’s help we will go forward. Please continue to pray for us. We need it now more than ever.
Also I ask you to pray about another matter. We have found a trailer that is used, is very well built, and for sale. It is better suited for what we do and our needs. It is better insulated and has more space than the one we currently own. Our current trailer is 2 bedroom, and with it just being Michelle and I, isn’t the best deal. The one we’re looking at is a large rear bedroom with a wardrobe. A large bathroom with washer and dryer hookups. A spacious kitchen with a roll around island and a nice living area in the front where we could entertain guests. It would be a blessing and we are praying that God would provide the means for us to get it. Anyways I would ask you to pray that God gives us clarity in this matter. Again I want to thank everyone for your support and prayers. We couldn’t do what we do without y’all and we don’t take that for granted. I have one request. Our ministry is a stand alone 501c3. Our EIN number is 27-0277370. Please make checks out to Gods Handyman Ministry and not me or my church. This will help our treasurer and make things easier at the bank. Any questions feel free to call me.
